Another $460 Raised by Rotarians and Friends in Huntsville, Ontario!

SOLD OUT!  (for now)

It's just astounding!  For the second week in a row I have received amazing news here in Cambodia about the efforts of fellow-Rotarians back home who have rallied to the cause to improve dental health for children in the rural areas of Cambodia.

A Huge Thanks to Rotarian Cathy Jordan of the Rotary Club of Huntsville that has led a campaign that has sold $740 of silk scarves.  Many thanks to everyone that made a purchase.  Countless children in 2 provinces here will now receive vital dental hygiene education from a qualified Cambodian dentist.  Dr. Khom Pisal has fixed 13 of my teeth - I know how qualified she is :-)

A possible few thousand toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste will be purchased with these funds and loaded onto a van and away we go!  Plans are underway now for 2 rural distributions - Koas Krala district in Battambang province and Trapeng Tasome area villages in Takeo district. The first session and distribution will take place in November.

Earlier this year, Dr. Sorin Mitrana of Lackner Woods Family Dentistry, Kitchener donated $225 towards this cause.  He had been to developing countries and had seen first-hand the serious issue of tooth decay in the rural areas.  This can be changed through education.

A huge thanks to Rotarian Bill Rathbun and his wife, Dora for their time to deliver scarves in Muskoka.

Keep your eye on this blogsite for updates through the next 5 months on this continuing project for rural children in Cambodia.

I'll be bring back more beautiful hand-loomed scarves from Cambodia in April.

All proceeds from the sale of scarves are donated to A Mine Free World Foundation for this dental program. The scarves are temporarily sold out but donations are still welcome :-)

Your donation can help us reach more children this winter.

$280 in Scarves Bought By Huntsville Rotarians in Ontario Canada

Many thanks to Huntsville Rotarians for their support -  $280 will realize dental education and supplies to hundreds of children in Takeo and Battambang provinces here in Cambodia.

A big thanks to Dan Blix and Rotarian Bill Rathbun who are raising these needed funds in Canada while I'm here in Cambodia volunteering.

Many thanks to Dora Rathbun and our Rotary Exchange student Federica who modeled the scarves so beautifully :-)

Our first trip into the villages with Cambodian dentist Dr. Pisal will be sometime in November.

I challenge all fellow-Rotarians and supporters to buy up our few remaining scarves and help us fight the battle against detal decay in the villages for MORE children.

All proceeds go to A Mine Free World Foundation for their dental program here.   Call 705-687-8538 to purchase your beautiful silk scarf now.  Details in posting below.   Only a few left!

I'll be bringing more scarves back with me in April!
